Contributing to Conservation

An essential part of being an ecotourism operator is that the business is actively contributing towards conservation and a number of measures have been included to guide operators in achieving this aim.

Contributions can range from organisation of litter clean up days and installing bird & bat boxes, through to information events for local farmers that focus on biodiversity and conservation.

Ecotourism operators are also encouraged to become actively involved with conservation organisations and create payback schemes that enable visitors to contribute funds towards local conservation.
